Dental implants
In traditional implantology, prostheses are placed on implants at least 8 weeks after implant placement.
In traditional implantology, prostheses are placed on implants at least 8 weeks after implant placement.
A few days before the operation, a tomographic image is taken and a prosthesis is made, so preparation for the operation takes 1-3 days.
However, in some situations, it may be possible to install an implant and fix a pre-fabricated denture onto it on the same day.
One-day implantation has a number of advantages and requires a team approach of surgeons, orthopedists and technicians to achieve optimal results.
In what cases is “implantation in one day” possible?
If there is no acute atrophy in the anterior parts of the jaw and it is possible to do without bone augmentation.
Thanks to this technology, the quality of life of patients improves instantly. Fully functional fixed dentures are installed on the day of implantation, thus aesthetics, psychological comfort and chewing functions are restored on the day of surgery. In addition, gum healing takes place in an ideal, natural form.
Especially in the first month after implantation, you need to beware of excessive chewing load. It is recommended to eat soft foods and avoid one-sided chewing so that the load is even.
What are the indications for implantation?
Implantation can be performed if there is sufficient bone volume. In case of atrophy, bone augmentation using various methods is carried out together with implantation or in two stages.
In traditional implantology, a prosthesis on implants is made 2-5 months after implantation. However, in some situations, it may be possible to receive prosthetics on the day of implantation.
What is the treatment duration for traditional implantation?
In traditional treatment, the period from implantation to completion of the prosthesis takes about 2-3 months. In the case of bone tissue growth, this period can increase to 4-5 months.
Are there age restrictions for implantation?
Implants can be installed at any age, starting from 18 years.

The use of titanium implants in dentistry began in the 1960s and to this day implantation is a proven and most successful method of restoring lost teeth. Titanium is a material biocompatible with the human body, which is resistant to corrosion and has high strength properties. For many years, titanium has been used with equal success in other branches of medicine, in particular in orthopedics, for the manufacture of hip-femoral and knee prostheses.
Fly and Smile Dental Clinic is the first and only clinic in Istanbul that began installing zirconium implants to patients from all over the world. Zirconium dioxide implants are used both to restore one lost masticatory organ and the dentition. They serve as a reliable support for the installation of bridges. The ivory shade makes the patient’s smile natural and snow-white. All these properties make zirconium dioxide implants the best option for dental implantation. They combine reliability, aesthetics, strength, naturalness and durability.
By being one of the first to use these implants, we have accumulated extensive clinical experience, which helps us solve the most difficult problems that patients pose to us.
Our experience in implantation with zirconium implants is the largest in Istanbul.
What does the implant consist of?
There are 3 components of a dental implant:
The rod itself, the abutment and the crown (prosthesis). The abutment is attached to the implant and functions as an analogue of a ground tooth on which a denture-prosthetic structure (crown, bridge or other types of prosthesis) is installed.
Zirconium is a rare and expensive metal that occurs naturally in the form of various minerals. Dental zirconium is an oxide of this metal, which after special processing obtains high bending strength and rigidity. Particularly popular are ceramic crowns based on zirconium oxide, which are distinguished by exceptional aesthetic qualities.
Zirconium implants, advantages:
- Beautiful appearance and natural color
- Excellent bioinertness, biocompatibility
- No allergic reaction
- High mechanical characteristics
- Promotes rapid and safe healing of peri-implant tissues периимплантарных тканей
Has antimicrobial properties
Who should get zirconium implants?:
PURE irconium implants
- Hypoallergenic
- Maximum biocompatibility
- More than 10,000 satisfied patients in 10 years
- Lifetime Warranty
- Patients with allergies to various metals (allergy to titanium – which is a big problem in implantology);
- Patients with chronic diseases;
- For high aesthetic needs;
- Patients who are afraid of having metal implants installed.
The goal of implant placement is to last a lifetime. The success rate of implant survival in modern dentistry reaches 96-98%. The main parameters that influence the service life of implants are optimal oral hygiene and controls carried out by a doctor in the post-operative period every 6 months.
What is the implantation procedure?
Implantation is a surgical procedure, which in most cases is performed under local anesthesia. In terms of complexity and patient comfort, the post-operative period is often easier than conventional tooth extraction. In some cases, there may be an indication for surgery under general anesthesia.
Are there any contraindications to implantation?
Contraindications to implantation can be divided into two categories: absolute and relative. Absolute cases include clinical cases when surgical intervention and installation of implants are undesirable: acute heart failure, cardiomyopathy, heart attack in the last 6 months, oncological diseases during their treatment, some skeletal diseases (osteomalacia, Paget’s disease), diseases of the immune system, AIDS, patients preparing for organ transplantation, after radiation therapy of the cervical and head, treatment of osteoporosis or oncology with bisphosphonates. Relative contraindications include clinical cases where prior treatment must be carried out before implantation: uncontrolled diabetes, angina pectoris, excessive use of tobacco, alcohol or drugs, certain autoimmune diseases, pregnancy.
When is a tooth placed on an implant?
In traditional implantology, the prosthesis is installed on the implant 2-5 months after implantation. The quality of the bone, installation on the upper or lower jaw, bone grafting and bone augmentation are factors that determine the healing time after implantation.
Are there age restrictions for implantation?
After 17-18 years there are no such restrictions. Implants can be installed at any age after the formation of the jaw bones and bite has been completed.
